ACCESS for Distance Learning Services
ACCESS is the campus cable network. In addition to regular commercial programming from Charter Communications, ACCESS regularly offers Deutche Welle, SCOLA, NASA, Classic Arts, MTV-U, Black Entertainment Television, and Open Net.
Programs with appropriate copyright permissions, recorded on standard play DV Cam, mini DV, DVD Rom, S-VHS, or VHS tapes may be broadcast on the campus cable channels at the request of faculty, staff, and students. Most tapes in the Film Library may be played over campus-only channels for educational purposes. Requests should be made at least 5 business days in advance via the Playback Request Form. (Please wait for confirmation of channels and times before announcing the playback schedule to your classes).
The Bulletin Board provides up to date information on campus events and activities to the university and local community. Announcements may be placed on the bulletin board by any official campus organization. Information should be sent to Darrell Laws (828-262-7122), Coordinator.
Regularly broadcast programs can be taped by request, provided copyright provisions are met and any broadcast fees are paid. The Off-Air Recording Request Form should be returned to Distance Learning for scheduling and confirmation.
