Distance Learning Services
Through our state-of-the-art control center, Distance Learning Services provides interactive video conferencing capabilities to accommodate up to 22 participants. Utilizing video over IP or traveling through the N.C. Research and Education Network [NC-REN], students, faculty and staff can connect to most any location statewide or around the globe. Special equipment or alternative room set-ups are available with prior notice. Charges may apply to any videoconference. Rates vary depending upon network and resource usage. Due to network requirements, please allow at least five working days to arrange and confirm a conference.
We also provide programming and distribution of ACCESS (Appalachian Community and Campus Exchange for Staff and Students). ACCESS is our campus cable system, providing college programming, feature films, locally produced segments and satellite downlinks to the Appalachian campus. Any locally produced programs must be submitted for approval before airing.
