Updating Profile

Upon accessing AsULearn you may wish to edit your Profile. We suggest that you encourage your students to do the same. To access your Profile click on your name in the login status area.

login status

You always access your profile by clicking on your logged in name. This is possible both from outside and within a course, but accessing your profile outside a course will provide you with limited options.

From outside a course (from the main AsULearn page):

When accessing your profile from within a course, you will notice several tabs: Profile, Edit profile, Forum posts, Blog, and Activity reports.

Edit profile: This consists of three editable areas: General, Picture of, and Optional.

General: You have the option to provide your preferred first name. We recommend you leave all the other settings as they are in the default. In the text box you will need to create a bio or introduction of yourself.

Picture of: You may use the browse button to upload a photo or image from your computer. It will automatically be resized; however, it can not be larger than 100KB.

Optional: If you have a web page, Skype or other IM ids you may insert this contact information along with your phone number and office address. To access the optional material you'll have to click on the Show Advanced button.

Remember to click update profile to save your updated information.

Forum posts: Click on the Forum Posts tab to see any postings you have made to discussion forums. You may also access your individual students’ profiles and click on forum posts to see an overview of postings they have made.

Blog: The Blog tab opens your blog. We do not recommend using blogs for students to post assignments, journals, or other graded material. AsULearn blogs are visible sitewide and attached to your profile; they are not course specific. Also, blogs are not connected to the grade book, so we recommend using the assignment tool or forums for any student work you wish to grade. You can use the blog to post public information you wish to make available to students, such as research interests or other professional information. You may also make your blog private (it will only be viewable to the blogs creator -- a sort of private journal).

Activity reports: This tab allows you to view various access logs. You may also access this page from Reports in the Administration block. Learn more about Activity Reports.
