Mary Beth McKee

Mary Beth McKee, IT Consultant, holds a degree in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University. In her current position, she consults with faculty members who wish to integrate technology into their teaching or move course content online, and she serves as one of our AsULearn administrators.

In May 2005 and 2007, Mary Beth traveled to Ghana with 14 students from ASU to participate in service learning projects. While in Africa, students participated in an AIDS education program and set up a computer lab for K-12 students. By focusing on particular projects, the students had the opportunity to get to know a group of Ghanaians and get insight into the lives and culture.

Prior to joining the ASU community, she worked in the corporate environment as an Educational Development Specialist for MICROS Systems, Inc. She taught a two-day orientation for new employees to introduce them to the company, the products, distribution system, etc. She also examined potential training needs of new hires, since a new corporate academy was being implemented.

While at Syracuse University, she was involved with AskERIC, a special project funded by the U.S. Department of Education, which also received funding and equipment from Sun Microsystems. As a special project, they experimented with a variety of platforms and software for Macintosh and PC's. AskERIC was a premiere Internet service operating as an electronic resource for people interested in educational research or educational issues.
